PSE certification
Release time:2020-03-09

The DENTORL Act (Electrical Device and Material Control Act) stipulates that 498 products must pass safety certification to enter the Japanese market. Among them, 165 types of A products should obtain the diamond-shaped PSE mark, and 333 types of B products should obtain the circular PSE mark.
Since April 1, 2001, the Electrical Product Control Act (DENTORL) has been officially renamed the Electrical Product Safety Act (DENAN). Unlike the control of the agreement provisions of the previous regulatory system, the new system will ensure product safety by unofficial agencies. All electrical and electronic products in Japan must pass the PSE mark certification. According to Japan's DENAN, products are divided into two categories: designated products and non-specified products. All products of the specified category must be inspected by the conformity assessment agency (CAB) authorized by METI. Factory inspection must be performed for each factory or product category, and certifications are issued according to different product categories. The certification is valid for about 3-7 years. When certification is updated, the product must be re-evaluated and tested.

S mark certification
The Japanese S mark is a voluntary product safety mark, and it is based on the IEC standard that harmonizes Japanese differentiation testing. The S logo was originally introduced by two semi-official agencies in Japan-Japan Quality Assurance Association and Japan Electrical Safety and Environmental Technology Laboratories. Currently headed by the Steering Council of Safety Certification for Electrical and Electronic Appliances and Parts of Japan. It includes more than 50 government agencies, manufacturers, importers, retailers, certification bodies and consumers.
The S mark specification also applies to EMC requirements. At the same time, a first factory inspection and an annual factory inspection must be performed.
