Standards Australia International Limited is Australia's only standards certification body.

机构 The agency was established in 1922 as the Commonwealth Engineering Standards Association of Australia and was renamed the Australian Standards Association in 1929. With the continuous development of the business, Quality Assurance Services Pty Ltd was added in 1990. In 1999, the institution completely abandoned its association nature and has been registered as a company to this day.

Australian International Standard Corporation is relatively neutral to government and users. In 1988, it signed a memorandum of understanding with the federal government, clarifying its independence and authority in Australia. The company is headquartered in Sydney, has offices in various states, employs more than 500 people, and has branches in India, Indonesia and New Zealand.

Electrical products, whether imported or locally assembled, must first be certified by the Australian International Standards Corporation before entering the Australian market. Different electrical products need different product quality certifications.

All electrical products are subject to safety certification (SAA). The inspection agency checks the safety and reliability of electrical appliances through destructive tests on electrical appliances. For example, under high temperature conditions, uninterrupted overloading of electrical appliances is used to check the electrical safety performance. A water leakage test shall be performed on the appearance of the washing machine to check whether there is electricity leakage. Unusual use of electrical sockets to see if there are hidden dangers and so on.

Electrical products entering the Australian market must comply with local safety regulations, which is the SAA certification often faced by the industry. Due to the mutual recognition agreement between Australia and New Zealand, all products that have obtained Australian certification can smoothly enter the New Zealand market for sale.
